Globus Cork

Themes
Business, Design, Interior, Manufacturing, Sustainable, Urban
Location
Bronx, NY

Such a fun and interesting visit to Globus Cork! A renewable material from the bark of the cork oak, cork has many properties that make for fantastic, sustainable flooring (but also harvesting, manufacturing and shipping)–it’s lightweight, insulative, sound-dampening, comfortable and beautiful. Globus imports cork directly from Portugal and custom cuts and colours it to customers’ needs. Jennifer Biscoe, the owner, was an incredibly gracious host, showing us the entire manufacturing process in Globus’ Bronx headquarters. We finished the day around the corner at Bronx Brewery.
