Oh dear, it was so pleasant when I didn’t have to wear hats.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis wrote that to Bergdorf Goodman’s custom millinery department (where she bought many of her hats) in a letter on view at BGC. What a great show! Bard usually has good shows, but this reminded me of the importance of the small, focused, high-quality exhibit & gallery. Incredible hats, thoughtful archival & informational videos, unobtrusive labelling, no fluff. I urge you to go see it before it closes on April 15.
Thanks so much to Melinda Wax, who gave us a fantastic tour. She’ll be giving a gallery talk on April 5 at 5p, should you want to hear more.
